Intex Family Size Round Metal Frame Pool Set

We have had this pool for two summers. We have had the blow up ring type pool in the past (took it down in the winter and put it back up in the spring; pump died the end of the second summer). I like this pool better. We purchased the pool in the late fall of 2007 and put the pool up the spring of 2008 on level ground. We do minor cleaning almost every day before the kids go for a swim - we have a lot of trees near the pool. We run the pump and filter almost 24/7. We live near Atlanta and left the pool up through the winter. The pool was covered and maintained through the winter.

We drained, cleaned and refilled it this spring. Pool chemicals are a little expensive, but you'll need them for any pool. We have the water tested at a pool supply store in early spring and add the needed chemicals. The rest of the year is just the shocks and tablets. We have two boys and a girl; their friends come over and swim often. The pool is used four or five days a week (or more). We have had no problems with the pool itself. The hoses to the filter pump started leaking where they bend to be attached to the pool mid summer this year.

I was able to fix them with some water proof tape. The pump died a couple of days ago - that's why I'm on amazon looking for a new pump. Remember the pump was on almost 24/7 for 17 months. For the price we paid for the pool, I feel it held up well (you get what you pay for). I'm going to replace the pump and hope the pool will last at least one more year, maybe two. All the minor maintenance and cleaning is done by the wife and kids (I made that clear before we bought it). 7/30/09
